You too can enjoy the conveniences and comfQrts that this "years ahead" refrigerator is bringing to thousands of American homes. Outt Mouse Dear Constance:Evanston, Illinois. August 1 :1, 19:18. The bouse is really bought and we're to move in next month. I just can't wait to get settled there, and Jack and the children arc as thrilled as I am. Tbe first thing we arc buying to put into it is a General El~ctric Refrigerator. Can you guess why? In tbe first place, rve been craving electric refrigeration for ever so long, for Jenny always forgets to put up the card for the iceman, or be neglects to look at it, so we are without a full ice compartment half the time. Then, with two youngsters who have to be fed at odd hours and a visiting Father-in-law who is on a diet, we are ·continually opening the icc-chest door and you know what that entering .~ave of warm air will do. We chose a General Electric rather than any other make because it is an old established firm, with over a quarter century of achievement behind it, and I've been told it took them 1 5 years of laboratory research to perfect this machine. In fact, "G. E." is the largest electrical manufacturing company in the world. Have you seen the HG. E." refrigerator? Such a neat affair, it would do any housekeeper's heart good to tbink she bad the care of it instead of the old type icebox. It's porcelain lined and covered and the Model we've chosen has ~onell metal trim (non-rusting). The mechanism is all on top of the box, lca\·mg the lower part free so that one can dust underneath, or move the box easily, if desired. And no messy drain to clean. The motor is silent and is hermetically scaled, so it never needs oiling and will not wear. Of coul'se, when I saw the open-work effect of the motor case, I thought "here is a dust catcher" but the salesman urged me to rub it: with my finger and explained that the constant ou'tflow of air from the motor case prevents any dust settling-just as it fails to settle on top of a radiator. The operating cost is small : B!end:! tells me hers runs only about onethird the cost of ice for her family of four. And food will keep days and daysthe temperature in a G. E. refrigerator is under 50° .F. all the time-so I'll only have to market a couple of times a week. How I do bate to have to buy food every single day I Don't you envy me? No both~r. with the ice',llan, even tem~eraturc at all times. neat, silent · motor, handsome lmmg and extcn~r, low opera tang cost, perfect facilities for storing food, and last but not least, tcc cub~s and frozen desserts whenever we want them. You simply must come to visit us as soon. as we ~re settled, for it's a joy to have guests wht:n rou arc all equipped to entertam them.
