The Rev. Leon L. Hammiett, 95, of Evanston, formerly of Wilmette, died Feb. 20 in Bethany Terrace Nursing Home, Morton Grove. The Rev. Mr. Hammitt, who had retired from the ministry, served the Wilmette Methodist Church in 1912. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca H. Swartz of Evanston; a brother, Charles of Portland, Ore.; and three grandchildren. Services were held Feb. 23 in Trinity Church of the North Shore, with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery.
