New Church Completed

The new meeting house erected by the First Methodist Episcopal church of our village will be opened for divine worship on Sunday, June 13, at 10:30 a.m. On the opening day there will be three meetings. At 10:30 Rev. C. M. Stuart, D.D., Editor of the Northwestern Christian Advocate will preach. at 3 p.m., a platform meeting will be held, and short addresses will be given by Dr. Bronson, Dr. Cady, Rev. R. E. Bowers, and Dr. Brushingham. In the eveing at 7:30 Rev. H. D. Atchison, D. D. of Dubuque, formerly pastor of the Methodist church here, will preach.
Following the opening Sunday services will be held through the week. On Monday evening, the Ladies' of the Society will tender a reception to all members and friends of the church. Tuesday evening, Dr. Hert [damaged?] -sen, editor of the Epworth Herald, will address teh meeting on "The work of our young folks." Wednesday evening, Dr. Elliot of the [damage] Missionary Society will speak on "The Relation of Home and Missions." Thursday evening [damage] MacDonald of Edgewater church will give an address on "Modern [damage] School Methods." Friday Dr. Eaton of Emanuel Church, Evanston, will speak on "The church and Temperance."
On Sunday, June 20, the Sunday school will meet in the new building at 9:30 a.m., at 10:45 a.m. the Rev. C. J. Little, D. D. L. L. D., president of Garrett Biblical Institute will preach the dedicatory sermon, and read te beautiful service of dedication. At 5 p.m., the Sunday school wil render a Children's day program, a very interesting feature of which will be the graduation exercises of the primary department.
The public is cordially invited to every service. The church is open to all and a hearty welcome is extended.
