- Mr. and Mrs. John Holbrook Hardin, Sheridan Rd. and Mary St., Hubbard Woods, will hold a benefit Fri. for the Grove House for Convalescents. Grove House is located at 1729 Livingston St., Evanston. The following will assist the hostess; Mrs. Herman B. Butler, Mrs. James L. Houghtelling, Mrs. Morton Butler, Mrs. Augustus Peabody, Mrs. Allen Haines, Mrs. Charles Hubbard, Mrs. Philip Schuyler Doane and Mrs. Robert Dunham. The Grove House was a gift from Mrs. B. E. Gallup and Mr. F. B. Peabody and was incorporated in 1902. The building houses women, girls and boys under twelve years of age. The officers are Mrs. James L. Houghtelling, president; Mrs. Herman B. Butler, vice-president; Mrs. M. Cochrane Armour, second vice-president; Mrs. Merritt Starr, treasurer, and Mrs. Hale Holden, secretary. The directors are: Dr. Sarah H. Brayton, Mrs. Daniel H. Burnham, Mrs. Morton Butler, Mrs. Philip S. Doane, Mrs. Arthur T. Galt, Miss C. C. Griswold, Mrs. J. Allen Haines, Mrs. John H. Hardin, Mrs. Robert J. Dunham, Mrs. Charles Hubbard, Mrs. Samuel Inswell, Mrs. Walter C. Larned, Mrs. W. B. McIllvane, Mrs. C. K. Parmelee, Mrs. Augustus S. Peabody, Mrs. J. P. Primley, Mrs. Edward L. Ryerson, Mrs. Frederick T. West, Mrs. Warner G. Baird, Mrs. George Dryden and Mrs. Alexander Robertson.
