The Good Roads Bills created the State Highway Department, the officers of which are members of the State Highway Commission. The Commission oversees highways and bridges, advises county superintendents and investigates appropriate methods of road and bridge construction for different parts of the state. From Foster Ave. in Chicago to Main St. in Evanston, Sheridan Rd. is in acceptable condition. Sheridan Rd. from Evanston Golf Club to Wilmette, is impassable. The road to Kenilworth is barely passable. Last year, Sheridan Rd. through Hubbard Woods, Glencoe, and Ravinia, was improved last year. - Date of Publication
