- Description
- Civil War veterans Charles Davis and George Wilson have been honored every Memorial Day by having their names read aloud with other Winnetka veterans, but their names do not appear among the fallen soldiers who are honored on the village's Centotaph. John Chimoures, former Winnetka resident, and Patti Van Cleve, Winnetka Historical Society director, organized a fund raising effort to raise money for a new bronze star bearing the names of the Civil War veterans.
