- The Loyola Ramblers were one of the 12 high-school teams competing in the 2012 Global Ireland Football Tournament (GIFT) playing in Dublin, Ireland, against Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas as their 2012 regular season opening game. The Ramblers lost 30-29. Comments by Loyola fans Nick Mandera, Betty and Tony Nickele of Park Ridge who are the grandparents of Thomas Nickele; Jeff DuPre, coach; Remi Bolecky, student; Chris Canning, alumnus and father of a current student; John Iglar of Evanston whose daughter is a student.
