- Short editorial comments on the importance of eyecare. A suggestion is made to the Evanston community to support their public library, pointing out that the Wilmette and Glenview libraries are going to add extra copies of the six best sellers. The editorial staff supports Mrs. Crain in her attempts to persuade Congress to honor James Sherlock with a medal of honor. James Sherlock helped save survivors from the Lady Elgin which sank in 1861. A humorous nod is given to the school authorities in Wash., D.C. for utilizing baseball statistics to teach math. Also mentioned was the polo tournament in Lake Forest and the boost in price of steamship tickets.
