- Rev. George Craig Stewart wrote about needed corrections to English history textbooks. A few months ago, Mrs. Ella Flagg Young, superintendent of the Chicago public schools directed teachers to revise and correct what they teach about the history of the Episcopal Church. In 1531, King Henry VIII claimed lay power over the church to prevent the pope from interfering with English concerns. The English Church did not become anti-Catholic like other Protestant Churches per Stewart.
