- 100 years ago, April 1, 1912, the Linden el station was built by stealth, overnight, to prempt a move by the Wilmette Village Board forbidding its construction. An event on Saturday celebrated the 100th anniversary of Purple Line el service to Linden Ave. Photographs of residents touring an historic train car at the station.
