- Members of the Grand Army of the Republic, Spanish War Veterans and Boy Scouts are finalizing plans for the observance of Memorial Day in Evanston. The tentative plan is that Mayor James R. Smart will be the Grand Marshal of the day. L.A. Gaskey of Chicago, a Spanish War Veteran, will speak. 2 Boys Scouts, William Meyer and LaVerne Eberhardt will recieve medals, presented by James R. Smart.
