Winter picnic

Kindergarten and preschool students are invited to participate in the preschool winter picnic from 4-6 p.m. Feb. 26. Mary Macaroni will perform.

Dress for cold weather

With the cold weather, the school expects each student to come to school dressed in appropriate winter attire. This would include a winter coat, hat, gloves or mittens. St. Joseph School guidelines for outdoor recess is to send children outdoors when the temperature and/or wind chill are 10 degrees or higher. The school determines whether the students go outdoors for recess when the temperature or wind chill is between 0 and 10 degrees and all children stay indoors when the temperature drops below 0 degrees. Please also remember that children are required to wear boots and snow pants to play in the snow otherwise they must stay on the blacktop. If it is determined that a student isn’t dressed appropriately they will stay in for recess.

Catholic Schools Week Mass

A special mass celebrating Catholic Schools Week will take place for children in sixth-eighth grade and preschool at 9 a.m.; children in kindergarten-second grade at 10:15 a.m.; and children in third-fifth grade at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 29. Participants may visit St. Joseph School’s Open House after each mass.
