- Laura Fine of Glenview and Jeffrey Smith of Evanston filed to seek office in the 17th state House district on Monday. State Rep. Daniel Biss, D-17th, elected to the seat last year, said in mid-November he will vacate his position and has filed to run for the 9th Senate District seat formerly occupied by Jeff Schoenberg, D-9th.
