Speaker Series

The first presentation in the inaugural Clara Belle Baker Speaker Series: Topics, Tensions and Explorations in Progressive Pedagogy will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at Baker Demonstration School, 201 Sheridan Road in Wilmette. Linda Tafel will present “Nurturing the Soil and Sowing the Seeds of Progressive Education in Chicago: Elizabeth Harrison, Thought Leader and Mother Spirit for the Kindergarten Movement.” The series is open to the community and free of charge. A conversation and reception with Tafel will follow her presentation.

Open House

Baker will host a Fall Family Open House from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 5. Interest and inquiries for admission to toddler through eighth grade for the 2011-2012 school year are welcome. To register, contact admissions@bakerdemschool.org.
