Ames, Patricia (née Hansen) (Died)

Ames, Patricia (Hansen) (nee Hansen), 77, of Crescent Beach, FL, born April 14, 1934, passed away June 14, 2011 at Community Hospice in St. Augustine, FL. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marjorie Hansen and her brother, John and her husband, Walter. Pat and her family moved to Wilmette in 1943. She graduated Central Stolp Grammar School in 1948 and New Trier High School in 1952. She attended Lawrence College in Appleton, WI, then transferred to University of Mexico her sophomore year, where she met her future husband. Pats Northshore years were filled with many joyful memories and meaningful accomplishments. Pat was an exceptional student (Honor Roll for all of her school years). She held many elected offices while in school, culminating as Vice President of the Junior Class, also an Officer in Girls Club and Student Council. Pat was also a competitive athlete and on many first string teams while in school. Pat was an inspiration to her many friends and younger brothers. Imparting her core values of diligence, honesty, fairness, all expressed with her beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. Pat and her husband Walter lived much of their married life abroad, raising their three children in Venezuela, Guatemala and Puerto Rico before moving to St. Augustine in 1994. Pat loved her life in Crescent Beach, FL where she had a successful real estate career. Pat was an avid swimmer, stained glass artist and dog lover. She recently volunteered as a foster parent for S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue. Pat was a loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her children, Michael, Susan, and Bradley and grandchildren, Samantha and Carter and brother, Eric Hansen of Birmingham, AL. Memorial Services have been held. In lieu of flowers, donations to S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue in St. Augustine, FL.
