Palmer, Robert Wayne 89, of Northfield, Illinois and Boca Grande, Florida. Husband for 61 years of Helen Johnson Palmer; father of Nancy (Steve Rothman) of Arlington, MA and David (Geralyn Emmerich) Palmer of Kildeer, IL; brother of Adele Palmer (Dr. Clarence) Glenn; grandfather of Ben and Lily Rothman and Erik Palmer; Uncle Bob to Susan Lampe, Robert Glenn, Paul Johnson, Jon Myers, Jim Myers and Susan Myers Cameron. Graduate of Morgan Park High School and the University of Illinois. Attended the School of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. US Army Veteran. Founder and owner of Palmer Design Associates, a graphic design firm in Chicago and Wilmette. His clients included US Gypsum, Scott Foresman, Rand McNally and Abbott Laboratories. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 1pm to 2:30pm at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (just south of Lake Ave. on west side). In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the North Shore Senior Center, 161 Northfield Rd., Northfield, IL 60093. Funeral information 847-998-1020.
