- American Legion Hall Post 46 located at 1925 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette. Wilmette Post 46 was first the Gross Point School built in 1895. The Wilmette American Legion was organized in June, 1920 and purchased the school house in 1946. It is dedicated to Peter J. Huerter who was the first Gross Point,IL man to die in World War I.
