Shattil, Siegfried Died July 28 at home in Highland Park. He lived in Wilmette for 45 years before moving to Highland Park five years ago. He was born Feb. 14, 1914 in Chicago, eldest son of Julius and Ann Shattil. Graduated from Sexton Grammer School, Hyde Park High School and Northwestern University. During WWII, he rose to the rank of seargent-major in the Air Technical Service. After the war, he returned to Chicago to operate the family hardware business with his two brothers, Arthur and Melvin. Later, he joined his brother-in-law, Jack Solomon, in establishing the Arts International and Circle Gallery art galleries. Mr. Shattil was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner. He was married to Arlene (Solomon) Shattil for 64 years. Mr. Shattil is survived by daughter Wendy, sons Ronald, Daniel and Steven and grandson Matthew. In lieu of flowers, contribute to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
