Henry, Oneida S. Of 1405 Grey Avenue, died on June 9, at North Shore Skokie Hospital. Oneida was a community activist, youth advocate, and world traveler most of her adult life. She was born in Ocilla, Georgia, on November 21, 1929, to Willie Casper and Carry Bell Grant. In 1946, she moved to Evanston from Richmond, VA with her father and stepmother, lzola B. Grant. Oneida married Joe W. Henry, also deceased, in 1947. The two raised twelve children, three preceding her in death. The funeral will be held at First Church of God Christian Life Center, 1524 Simpson Street on Friday, June 17. Pastor Monte' Dillard Sr. will preside over the service. Church visitation: 10 -11 a.m., Service: 11-12 p.m., Interment at Sunset Memorial Lawns, followed by a Repass at the church. Arrangements by: Haliburton Funeral Chapel (Nathan Haliburton), 1317 Emerson Street, (847) 864-6135.
