- [annotation on back of the photograph] Note the number of vacant lots on Linden Ave., and Laurel Ave. at this time. The Ben Marshall (Goldblatt) home is still there and the water comes almost up to the bluff there. You can see the scaffolding on the Baha'i Temple. None of the landscaping is done at this time. Note the locks at the bridge. Before World War II, you could go thru the locks and down the canal with smaller boats. The locks were removed after World War II and the sluice gates put in instead. The Coast Guard Station and the Sheridan Shore Y. C. [Yacht Club] have been built. Note the Coast Guard Watch Tower at the point.
