- Many candidates are filing to run in the Evanston elections. City Clerk John F. Hahn has been kept bush. James R. Smart and Charles S. Wallace have filed petitions for mayor. John F. Hahn and Robert E. Glass have filed for city clerk; James G. Ingraham, George P. Mills and William E. Anderson have filed for city treasurer; Edwin L. Kappelman is circulating a petition for the same office. Carmen C. Lutkin, present city attorney, has filed to run again. John F. Boyer, present police magistrate; Jacob A. Cline, a barber; and Samuel Harrison, justice of the peace, have filed for the office of police magistrate; Henry F. Witt, Walter Sullivan and Fred Rubo have filed for constable, and William S. Moore for justice of the peace. Also mentioned were George Bowers and John H. Lechner, Charles B. Congdon, Victor A. Rossbach, H.E. Chandler, Conrad H. Poppenhusen, J. Foster Burns, William G. Norkett, Peter T. Hummelgaard, Ernest Witseipe, Amiel G. Changelon, W. H. Knapp.
