Henzlik, William C. (Died)

Henzlik, William "Bill" C. Age 86, passed away May 7, 2011. Bill was a Navy veteran, serving from 1943-1946. He earned his first degree from Iowa State in aeronautical engineering, and then a Bachelors of Journalism from the University of Missouri. He went on to earn his Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from the University of Chicago. He was a longtime clergy member of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, serving churches in Oak Forest, Evanston, Sycamore and Capron. He also served as managing editor of Christian Advocate. Bill was the beloved husband of Peggy, nee Mitcheltree, for 56 years; loving father of Evelyn (James) Goodwyn, Joseph (Laura) and Paul; dear grandfather of Andrew and Emily Goodwyn and Rachel and Sarah Henzlik; caring brother of Eugene, Don (Barbara) and Kathy Henzlik Anderson. Bill is also survived by numerous friends and extended family in the United Methodist community and the loving Walsh family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 14, at 2 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1024 Lake Ave., Wilmette, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bill's name to Doctors Without Borders, Heifer International, or the Trinity United Methodist Memorial Fund.
