Frankfort, Franklin Co., Ill [Illinois]

Oct. [October] 21, 1881

A. McDaniel

Dear Friend,

I have received your letter of the 21st U.L.T. [abbreviation for ultimo] and in reply, will say that according to the best of my recollection my father moved up in the country called Gross Point in the fall of the year 1838. In reply to your wife's inquiry in regard to my last wife's being as pretty as my first I will say that I think she is. She is 36 years old, but tell her to come and see us and decide that matter for herself. Give my regards to all. over [p.2] and let me hear from you again soon

Your Friend

Peter Ellis
