McGuire, Esther R. (née Remick) (Died)

McGuire, Esther R. Age 87, of the Mather Home, Evanston died February 22, 2011. Born 1924, Esther Louise Remick, (daughter of Walter and Erminie) in Pittsburgh, PA. Graduated Wellesley College 1945. Married William Clark McGuire 1946 and devoted 25 years to raising her family. In 1969 she earned a MA in teaching from Manhattanville College. Taught grades 1-3 in Dobbs Ferry, NY from 1969 to 1989. Restless and energetic, she was an enthusiastic volunteer, a traveler, and a devotee of the performing arts. Over the course of her life, Esther made myriad friends and is survived by sons, Kim (Peggy), Jeff (Mary), and Bill (Lynda); grandchildren, Jacob, Brady, Molly and Emma; nieces, Christine and Sally; and nephew, Henry.
