- Northwestern University has changed its rules for membership in sororities. There is now a requirement that students must be in their sophomore year before joining. The new rules also: require monthly meetings of the Pan-Hellenic delegates, prohibit freshmen involvement in sorority matters, prohibit sororities from encouraging freshemen to become interested in sororities, and any attempts by sororities to monopolize the time of freshmen.
