- At the meeting of the Evanston City Council Tuesday night, Ald. Knapp stated that an ordinance would be introduced at the next meeting for a filtration plant. Ald. James Turnock introduced an amendment to the building ordinance which Ald. Smart objected to without success. The amendment passed with a nod from Mayor Paden. Ald. Turnock read an ordinance for the extension of the fire line into the Dempster business district. It was suggested by Ald. Hinckley to postpone the passage until next week.
