Mrs. B. J. O'Connell is president of the league, Mrs. M. J. Geary, auxiliary chairman and Miss Loella Foley, president of the auxiliary.
The second division of the Ladles' Aid society of the Methodist church will meet with Mrs. John C. Manerud, 904 Oakwood avenue, Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Fairchild of Wilmette gave a beach party Monday afternoon, followed by veranda tea, in honor of their niece, Miss Florence Draper of Cleveland, Ohio.
The philanthropy department of the Wilmette Woman's club meets the third Friday of each month at the club Building at 10 a. m. for work, begin- ning Oct. 16, 1915. A feature of the affair was that, while it was "reception day," It was also "bundle day," and each member brought with her t bundle containing a new warm garment to be disposed of by the philanthropy department.
Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Taylor of Alton, Ill., announce the marriage of their daughter, Marjorie, to James H. Braithwaite, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Braithwaite,906 Greenwood avenue, which took place on Tuesday at the summer home, of the bride near Traverse City, Mich.

Wally Heymar, violinist, will assist. All are welcome.
The annual church and Sunday school picnic of the Baptist church will be held on the New Trier High School grounds, weather permitting, tomorrow afternoon. All who attend are requested to go directly to the grounds as soon after luncheon as possible. There will be games and a good time for all. A picnic supper, provided by the picnickers, themselves, will be held in the evening. This is to be the first of a series of "get-to-gather" occasions planned for the early fall. It is hoped there will be a large attendance.
The North Short Catholic Woman's league and auxiliary began Its fall activities with a reception yesterday afternoon at the Winnetka Woman's club. Following the reception, a splendid program was given, consisting of two groups of songs by May Baker O'Brien, end two speeches, the first on "Federation," presented by Mrs. Frederick A. Dow, secretary of the State Federation of Women's clubs and past president of the same. Rev. J. H. Nawn of the Corpus Christi church, Chicago, was the second speaker of the afternoon, his subject being, "Shakespeare." The afternoon closed with the usual social half hour.
