The Anti-cigarette league gave a dinner last Friday at the Kimball cafe, Chicago, to a large assembly gathered to hear Virginia Brooks. By some unforeseen circumstances she was unable to be present. Though disappointed in not hearing her they were greatly pleased to listen to Wm. H. Bodine, superintendent of compulsory education and Dr. Herbert F. Fisk of Evanston. Among those at the Evanston table were Mr. and Mrs. Bentley Masslich, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Kean and Mrs. J. K. Davis. The dinner was given to promote interest in the work of the league.
