- Katherine ("Kate") Barkhausen Geraghty died on November 24, 2010 in her home in Harbor Springs Michigan. Kate was born in Green Bay Wisconsin on May 13, 1918 to Henry Barkhausen and Miriam Barkhausen. She was married to Thomas F. Geraghty, Jr. in 1943 in San Francisco. Kate's husband, Tom, died in 1998 in Harbor Springs. Kate is survived by her five children, Thomas F. III and his wife Diane of Glencoe, IL, Helen Geraghty Morgan and her husband Lance of Interlochen MI, Robert Clarke Geraghty and his wife Elisabeth of Winnetka, Illinois, Miriam Noyes Geraghty and her husband Douglas Severson of Oak Park,Illinois, and Peter Hopkins Geraghty and his wife Dominique of Oak Park, Illinois. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and by 16 great-grandchildren. Her sister Helen Perry of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and her brother Henry Barkhausen of Lake Forest, Illinois also survive her. A memorial service for the family has been held at Kate's home in Harbor Springs, and burial followed the service at the Friendship Township Cemetery.
