- Alfred T. Abeles, a longtime Wilmette resident who later moved to Deerfield, died April 27 at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. He was 91. His late wife was Margaret Abeles. Survivors include a son, John Abeles of Deerfield, and six grandchildren. Burial was at Memorial park Cemetery, Skokie.
