- Two local boys made it to the semifinals at the American Platform Tennis Association's Junior Nationals held last month in Summit, N.J. Doubles partners Fitz Bowen, 13, of Kenilworth and Nicholas McCall, 12, of Winnetka, were semifinalists in the 12 and under group. Winnetka students Stephen Jones, 13, and Michael Revord, 12, were quarter-finalists.
