- There is currently no indication of any competitive races for the April 17 municipal election. Incumbent Village Trustees Mari Terman and Joanne Aggens filed for reelection, but there are not petitions for the seat to be vacated by Jim Griffith. Potential additional candidates mentioned include Karen Spillers and Mike Basil. Wilmette School District 39 incumbent, Judy Schnecke may run, and Keith Dronen and Karen Donnen plan to file later. Shelagh Donahue and Bruce Lyon, won't run again for school board. Three two-term Wilmette Public Library trustees--David Oser, Kathleen O'Laughlin and Douglas Rath--all filed petitions. Trustee Leonard Nelson isn't running again but Alice Chow has filed to take his spot. For Avoca Schocol District 37 no candidates have appeared other than those slated by the caucus--incumbent Sherry Wallingfor and newcomers Henry Kingwell and Mike Knippen. In Kenilworth Village Trustee John Vitt does not plan to oppose the Kenilworth Caucus slate. Expected to file are caucus candidates Jim Hughes and Tom Terrill and incumbent Robett Smietana. Filing for Kenilworth School District 38 Board of Education were incumbents Jeffrey Treiber and SUsan E. Rohrman, and newcomber Chris L. Williams. Michael H. Tempest filed for a two-year term that has been held on an interim basis by Patrick T. Zelten after the resignation of Thomas Wiegand last March.
