- Mary R. Hall, a concert pianist and widow of an internationally famed hybridist, died April 14 at the Normandy House in Wilmette. Mrs. Hall, 91, had lived formerly at 800 Central Av. In 1910 Mary Rhea von Gunten was married in Blenheim, Ontario, Canada, to David Francis Hall. Two of the daylilies he introduced in 1965 were named "Wilmette" and "Winnetka." Mr. Hall died on July 24, 1968, at the age of 92. She is survived by a son, Richard D. of Denver; a daughter-in-law, Jane B. Hall, widow of her son, Carl B. who died in World War II; three grandchildren, Lynn E., James B. and David B.; and three great grandchildren.
