- Annika Welander, 20, of Winnetka, won the CDGA Women's Amateur Championship at Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest.
Seul-Ki Park won the North Shore Women's Amateur Championship Aug. 7 at the Winnetka Golf Club.
Two local golfers qualified for the 2006 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship to be held at Forest Highlands in Flagstaff, Ariz. Sept. 9-14: Paul Hindsley of Northfield and Jay Dempsey of Glencoe
LaGrange Country Club hosted the 13th annual IJGA Girls Tournament of Champions Aug. 8. Players included Kenilworth native Avery Connelly and Jungha Park of Wilmette, with Winnetka's Brittany Rendell
Old Oaks Country Club in Homer Glen hosted the Dave Rowlands Tournament of Champions last Thursday. Players included Glenview's Quinlan Prchal in 12-13 year old boys play; Dana Gullen of Winnetka in the 12-13 year old girls division and Melanie Chaiyakam of Glenview. Austin Rendell of Winnetka tied for fourth place in the 10-11 year old nine hole invitational event. Creighton Helms of Glenview and Drew Langan and Drew Fishcher both of Winnetka also played.
On AUg. 9 the North Shore Country Club welcomed participants or the IJGA Boys' Tournament of Champions. Players included Brandon Marick of Northbrook, Conor Weldon of Hinsdale and Blake Biggs of Dunlap and Mills Rendell of Winnetka.
August 2-3, 13-18 year-old golfers played on the Willow Hill Golf Course in the second King of the Hill OGlf Skills Challenge and Tournament. Players included Winnetka's Connor Fox, JOhn Beck of GLenview, Rudy Villafane of Northfield, Drew Langan of Winnetka, Creighton Helms.
8-12 year old boys and girls skills challenge was held last Thursday at Willow Hill. Players included Northbrook's Quinn McCarthy and Brooks Whitlock, Alana Swaringen of Glenview, Andrew Kirby of Wilmette, Jack Connely and Luke McCanna of Glenview - Date of Publication
