- Loyola Academy lost to Lyons Township Friday night in the Illniois High School Baseball Coaches Association state summer baseball championship. The Ramblers finished 17-8 and earned state runner-up honors despite never having even advanced to the regional finals prior to this year. Coach Ray Del Fava had been fired earlier in the day.
