- Rabbi Dovid Flinkenstein's Lubavitch Chabad of Wilmette, also known as the Chai Center, recently bought the entire 4,500-square-foot center in the 2900 block of Old Glenview Road where the chabad now operates. The intention is to raze the mall and build a 5,800-square-foot temple on the property, but he said the building could be used to expand programming without demolition. The temple needs to clear the mall of one last tenant. OK Cleaners recently moved out of the mall, but talks continue with Hair Chasers, a beauty salon holding a long lease.
