- A surprising number of Wilmete residents favor esablishment of appearance review regulation for residenial construcction and single-family home alterations in order to fight the tear-down trend that has taken place in many North Shore Suburbs in recent years. Establishment of historic districts as a means to regulate new construction and exterior alterations is also popular with many village residents.
