- Gerhardt Steffens of Evanston died late Sunday night [27 Jul 1941]. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery in Wilmette. Mr. Steffens, 83 years old, was a former resident of Wilmette, having owned a home at Park and Linden avenues. Besides three daughters in Evanston, Mrs. L.H. Changelon, Mrs. J. P. Park and Mrs. J. W. Krug, Mr. Steffens is also survived by three sons, Joseph G. in California, John M. of 1611 Washington avenue, Wilmette, and Samuel J. of 687 Cherry street, Winnetka, and 20 grandchildren.
