- Douglas S. Brands, 48, of Wadsworth, Ohio, formerly of Wilmette, died Oct. 24 at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio after a brief illness.
Mr. Brands was born Dec. 2, 1956, in Chicago and resided in Wadsworth, Ohio for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Ginny (née Blair); four stepdaughters, Rebecca, Marilyn, Elizabeth and Deborah; seven grandchildren; his mother, Martha Brands; one sister, Tami; two brothers, Andy and Alex (Kathy); two nephews; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Brands.
