- Ladies of the Chicago Council of the Navy League are assisting with plans for the Navy Day Ball Oct. 28 in Chiago. Committee members are Mrs. Roman T. Mankus and Mrs. Maurice L. Horner Jr. of Winnetka; Mrs. Robert Crown of Wilmette; Mrs. George A. O'Connell Jr. and Mrs. Edward M. Fox of Deerfield; Mrs. Vaino E. Laine and Mrs. Leo Smith of Glenview; and Mrs. Homer J. Livingston Jr. of Northbrook. Roman Mankus is chairman of the Navy Day observance.
