- Ruth M. (née Minor) Brown, 84, a resident of Wilmette and formerly Winnetka, died Sept. 22 at the Presbyterian Homes in Evanston.
Mrs. Brown was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Brooksville, Miss.
While living in San Diego, Calif., in 1942, she met Navy lieutenant James J. Brown Jr. of River Forest and the two were married in 1943. The couple settled in Winnetka where they resided until Mr. Brown's death in 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Molly B. (Christopher Q.) Stephan of Northfield, and Helen M. of Lakewood, Colo.; and three grandchildren, Christopher Q. Stephan Jr., Carolyn Stephan Agnew and Sarah D. Stephan.
Interment will be in Macon, Miss.
