- Leon (Bud) Peter Steffens and Ruth Holley Steffens of Glenview celebrate milestone birthdays. Leon Steffens turned 95 Saturday, and Ruth Stefens will mark her 90th birthday on June 12, which is also the couple's 23rd wedding anniversary.
Leon Steffens was born in 1920 on the 1500 block of Wilmette Avenue to Joseph F. and Margaret Steffens, who were also born in Wilmette. He married Ruth Holley in 1982.
The couple lives in Glenview, in the same home where Ruth Holley Steffens raised her three children, George Holley of Connecticut and twins Michael Holley of Wilmette and Barbara Eppert of Michigan.
