- James F. Mitchel, 74, of Winnetka, died early Feb. 8 at Evanston Hospital, in Evanston.
Mr. Mitchel was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Mitchel of Winnetka; two sons, James F. (Anne), Jr. of Northfield and Cary (Michelle) of Chicago; four daughters, Marion (William) Powers of Winnetka, Paula (Ronald) Gion of Northfield, Faith (William) Fairclough of Wilmette and Hope (William) Brown of Malibu, Calif.; 23 grandchildren, Jamie, Timothy and Kelly Powers, Sara, Katie and Molly Mitchel, Jacqueline, George and Janie Gion, Ethan, Quinn, Brooke and Lindsey Mitchel, William, Victoria, Hope, Erin, Clare, Jennifer and Mary Fairclough, Faith, Hugh and Katherine Brown; and one brother, William (Barbara) Mitchel of Wilmette.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, 301 Chicago Avenue in Evanston.
