- Mrs. Marie F. (nee Ferwerda) Henkel died Jan. 23 in Evanston. She was 86.
Born March 6, 1918, in Dover, Del., she married Lt. Robert I. Henkel of Winnetka, her husband of 62 years, on Jan. 16, 1943, in Ardmore, Pa.
An entrepreneur, Mrs. Henkel was involved in interior design for many years through her own company, Fleur de Lis Inc.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert W.
In addition to her husband, survivors include son David (Pamela) of Lake Forest; daughters Leslie (Paul) Lehner of Evanston, Carol (Shawn) Hunt of Winnetka and Janet (Mark) Paras of Camas, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; sister Elizabeth (Winslow) Fox; and brother John Ferwerda.
