- Mrs. Mary Cecile O'Connell, mother of Mrs. Charles Ramsey and Mrs. Arthur Roth of Wilmette, who was 82 years old, died October 27 in Highland Park Hospital. She had lived for the past five years with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas F. Scanlan of Willow Road, Northbrook. Wife of the late William J. O'Connell, Mrs. O'Connell lived for many years at 933 Linden Avenue in Wilmette. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Frank J. Cleary of Chicago, Mrs. Scanlan of Northbrook, Mrs. Ransey [sic] and Mrs. Roth of Wilmette, and by a son, George A. of Chicago. She was preceded in death by two sons, the late Herbert L. O'Connell, former Wilmette postmaster, and the late W. Marshall O'Connell and a daughter, Miss Florence L. O'Connell.
