- Mrs. Katherine Parr Van Benschoten, who had lived for the past three years at the home of her son, William, of 2915 Lake Avenue, Wilmette died October 29 at her son's home. She was 81 years old. Daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Parr, Mrs. Van Benschoten lived in Wilmette during her early girlhood. After her marriage to the late Dr. William Van Benschoten she moved to Woodlawn in Chicago. In addition to her son, Mrs. Van Benschoten is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William F. Phipps of Wilmette and Mrs. Harold L. Parr of Moline. There is a sister, Miss Frances Parr of Chicago, and there are five grandchildren, Jane and William Van Benschoten, Richard F. Phipps, Mrs. Ann Phipps Ramsay, and Katherine Parr.
