- Mildred Thalman, 82, a resident of Wilmette, died Sept. 26 in her home.
Miss Thalman was born on Feb. 2, 1922 to William B. and Mary (nee Sturges) Thalman in the family home that was built by her grandfather in 1871.
Miss Thalman worked for her father in the family business, William B. Thalman Grocery, which was located at the corner of Lake Avenue and Illinois Road in Wilmette. Wilmette Fire Station No. 2 now sits on that location. Survivors include her sisters, Florence Thalman of Wilmette and Evelyn (Lester) Rakow of Northbrook; her brother, William N. (Lorraine) Thalman of Columbus, Ohio; 15 nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law, John Rosemark of Rochester, Minn.
She was predeceased by her parents, William B. and Mary Sturges Thalman; and her sisters, Bernice Thalman, Lucille (Zenon) Skar and Elizabeth Rosemark.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie.
