- John Stuart Doig, an early settler of Wilmette whose family came here 65 years ago, died on Friday, November 27, after an illness of eight months. 76 years old, Mr. Doig was born in New Jersey. Mr. Doig belonged to the First Congregational Church of Wilmette. Interment took place at Rosehill Cemetery. Survivors are Mr. Doig's widow, Mrs. Olive R. Doig, 621 Prairie Avenue, Wilmette, and a son, James 127 Prairie Avenue.
