- New Trier Scholastic Bowl team tied for 9th place out of 40 qualified teams at an invite-only national tournament at the University of Maryland last weekend. This was the best finish ever in a national scholastic bowl for any Illinois School. Participating New Trier students included Yian Chen, Michael Evans, Cliff Chang, Sam Grossberg and Greg Poulos. Coach was Carolyn Gerhardt.
