Mrs. Clara M. Groves, widow of the late Dr. James M. Groves, died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leonard C. Gregory, 465 Woodlawn avenue, Glencoe, Monday evening. Heart disease was the cause of death. About three years ago Mrs. Groves suffered a severe attack of pneumonia, from the effects of which she never fully recovered. Three months ago she suffered an attack of influenza which still further complicated her condition.

Monday evening, just as the family sat down to dinner, Mrs. Groves, without the slightest warning, succumbed to a heart attack.

She was 67 years of age. She was born in McDonough county, Illinois, but had been a resident of the north shore for the past ten years, making her home with her daughter. They formerly lived in Wilmette.

Another daughter, Mrs. Ben Kitchen, residing in Los Angeles, Cal., arrived in Glencoe by airplane, only eighteen hours after receiving the message announcing the death of her mother.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Plymouth, Ill., the former home of the family, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, following which the remains were laid at rest beside those of Mrs. Groves’ husband, in the Plymouth cemetery.
